Letter from Bill
May 2009
Dear Parents
A few months ago, I spoke at an All-School Assembly about the need to take a moment, stop, watch the trees bloom, and recognize the amazing changes which spring brings us every year. A few parents kidded me that I was a bit too early, but this weekend, spring seemed to finally arrive. The trees around us are in leaf and many flowering shrubs are blooming.
I want to thank all of our alumni and former students who visited us on the evening of April 16th to see the Science Fair. Our alumni like to keep in touch and see how our current students respond to the rigor of Science Fair. The above pictures are just a small sampling of many taken at Science Fair and show our students have definitely risen to the challenge!
Our alumni also like to know what high schools our graduates will be attending. I am happy to announce that Margaret Ann Bolick will attend the Dana Hall School; Ian Francis will attend the Rivers School; MaryEliz Kelleher will attend Natick High School; Evan Lyle will attend Beaver Country Day School; Francisco Ormaza will attend Natick High School; Emily Pasco-Anderson will attend Cambridge School of Weston; and Sridhar Rangan will attend Wellesley High School. We are all very proud of what these students have accomplished.
I want to take this opportunity to invite our alumni and former students to attend these upcoming events: Latin Declamation on Thursday, May 21 at 7 PM in the Sally King Gym; Graduation on Tuesday, June 9 at 6 PM in the Sally King Gym; and the Alumni Reunion on Tuesday, June 9 at 7 PM in the Portico.
The Permanent Home Committee has been working hard. They are working closely with the Town of Natick to extend our lease on the Brick Building in parallel with our construction at 33-35 Eliot Street to ensure that our children continue to have a safe, welcoming place to come to school as we begin the building process. The Committee is also planning a celebration at the Peletiah Tavern to celebrate the completion of the repairs there.
We have several Open Houses coming up. We will have Open Houses for Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten families on Sunday, May 17 and on Wednesday, may 20 from 9:00 – 11:00. I ask that you continue your good work in telling your friends and neighbors about our school and inviting families to visit.
Sincerely yours,
Bill O'Hearn
President, Board of Trustees
