Thank you for your interest in The Eliot Montessori School for the 2010-11 school year. Eliot has a small scholarship endowment allocated according to need to help deserving students afford tuition at our school. You may begin to apply for financial aid starting on November 1, 2009, as described below.
We use School and Student Services (SSS) to process our financial
aid applications. SSS is a service of the National Association
of Independent Schools. Based on the financial information you
supply, SSS provides an estimated amount your family can contribute
to educational expenses. This helps our school make fair and
objective financial aid decisions. To begin your financial aid
application for the 2010-11 enrollment year, follow these steps
below.
ONLINE
- Starting on November 1, 2009, go to sss.nais.org
- Click on the prompt to begin your Parents' Financial Statement (PFS).
Only one PFS is necessary even if you have several children
applying to our school.
- You will be given a username and password allowing you to complete your
PFS at a later date before submitting it. This is an encrypted
site to ensure security.
- At Eliot we also require a copy of your completed 2009
IRS 1040 tax return, including all supporting schedules.
Note: If you apply for financial aid online, your information will be delivered quickly and accurately to our school, allowing us to make a timely decision about your eligibility for financial aid.
BY MAIL
- You may also request a packet directly from The Eliot
Montessori School. Please call our school at 508-655-7333
to get a copy of the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS).
- Complete the PFS and return it to School and Student Services by NAIS, Application
Processing Center, P.O. Box 449, Randolph, MA 02368-0449
USA.
A PFS must also be completed by non-custodial parents. To be considered for financial aid for the 2010-2011 school year at The Eliot Montessori School, your application must be submitted or postmarked by February 5, 2010.
To complete the PFS use actual dollar figures from your 2009 IRS 1040. If your taxes are not completed, enter your closest approximation from W-2's and 1099's.

TIMELINE

- PFS should be postmarked or submitted online to
SSS in Princeton, NJ.
- Send a photocopy of the completed PFS to Eliot's Business Office.
- Send a copy of your 2009 IRS Form 1040 to Eliot's Business Office, along with all supporting schedules (including W-2's).

- Decisions regarding financial aid are mailed to families of enrolled students.

| April 16, 2010 |
- Deadline to accept financial aid or rescind aid and contract in writing.
- Although we ask that you sign your enrollment contract and submit the required deposit at the beginning of March we understand that financial aid is an important factor when considering enrollment. Financial aid applicants are granted a special waiver. They may notify the school in writing of a withdrawal decision due to financial reasons. The Financial Aid Committee must also concur that the reason for withdrawal is financial. Under these circumstances the family can rescind the original enrollment contract and your deposit will be returned.
